Possible Road Closures Due to Flooding

The following information was posted as a Florida Travel Advisory on VISITFLORIDA.com today. VISIT FLORIDA will continue to work with emergency management officials as they monitor the potential flooding situation along the Suwannee River. Updates to this site will be posted as new information becomes available.



Potential Road Closures

State transportation, law enforcement and emergency management officials are preparing for the flooding of major roads in north Florida along the Suwannee River due to recent heavy rains in the region.

Potential road closures include U.S. 90 at the Suwannee River (Madison and Suwannee county line) as early as Wednesday and Interstate 10 (I-10) at the Suwannee River bridge as early as Thursday.

Motorists are encouraged to seek alternate routes through these areas. The State of Florida is coordinating response efforts with the State of Georgia to develop alternative routes through the region.
