NEWS RELEASE TOPIC:
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: February 11, 2009

The following statement is issued by Bud Nocera, VISIT FLORIDA President and CEO to clarify the contract between VISIT FLORIDA and USA800

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (Feb 11, 2009) –“In June 2008, VISIT FLORIDA notified USA800 that we would not be renewing our annual contract for their services. Our contract required that we provide 180 days notice for cancellation of services. That notification was not only transparent but amicable. It was never VISIT FLORIDA’s intention to imply that USA800 was ‘fired’.

“In October 2008, VISIT FLORIDA reissued an Intent to Negotiate (ITN) for call center and fulfillment services. For the current ITN, VISIT FLORIDA received 14 proposals, six of which are Florida companies. At this time, VISIT FLORIDA has decided to move forward with another vendor. A contract should be signed in within 15 days. “
