Celebrating Food in Florida

Although you may know the Sunshine State for waves and sandy shores, there are numerous award-winning food festivals throughout the year that draw quite a crowd. Some festivals are rich in history like the Shrimp Festival in Fernandina, which honors Florida’s historic Amelia Island as the only U.S. location to be ruled under eight different flags. Others celebrate heritage in our country with native dining and dancing like the World of Nations Celebration in Jacksonville. With Florida’s rich soil and sunshine some festivals even celebrate a flourishing crop season, creating quite a buzz in local and even national areas, including the South Florida Sweet Corn Fiesta in West Palm Beach and the Florida Strawberry Festival in Plant City. These are just a few of the festivals created for your eating pleasure, but don’t take our word for it. Pick a warm Floridian day to drive the coast and let the aromas guide you.
